About Our Schools

According to US World News, Fennimore’s Elementary, Middle and High Schools all are one of America’s Best Schools! We agree!  We live in a rural school district that thrives because of community, family, and local support. We are at the gold level of offering dual credits for high school students, according to the Wisconsin Technical College System. For eight (8) consecutive years, we have earned Advanced Placement (AP) Honor Roll designation.

The time has come to repair our school facilities so that we can continue to offer the high level of education excellence the community expects and our students deserve.

Facility Issues

A facility study last year commissioned by the Board of Education was completed by Performance Services, Inc. It validated and reviewed the scope of a number of facility issues throughout the District.

If approved, the referendum will address:

  • Roofs

  • Elementary playground equipment

  • Elementary, lower level bathrooms, updated to be ADA compliant

  • Elementary elevator repair

  • Elementary school interior lighting, windows, ceiling tiles

  • Replacement of worn interior finishes

  • Replacing unsafe exterior lighting poles at football/baseball fields

  • Addition of air conditioning equipment

  • Updates and renovation of some classrooms and learning spaces at all schools.

    • Occupational/Physical Therapy room at elementary school

    • Renovate Middle/High School Ag/Tech Ed classrooms

    • Create an all-purpose room at the Middle/High School

    • Create additional classrooms (middle/high school)

It is typical in Wisconsin that school districts, when faced with large scale projects, seek voter approval to borrow funds for those projects. A capital referendum is proposed to address these critical, large scale projects. The total cost of all projects is projected to be $17 million. If approved, there is no tax impact projected for property owners because of sound fiscal pre-planning by the Board of Education.

A recent survey concluded that 61.5% of voters approved of the District seeking this referendum.

Community Commitment

Fennimore Community Schools is proud of the strong relationships we have within our community. Each year, the District receives a tremendous amount of support - from volunteers, to concession stand workers and various fundraiser supports, to monetary and in-kind donations. Many student programs could not thrive and excel without the help of our generous community.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the many dedicated volunteers - parents, grand-parents, community members, and alumni who have generously donated countless hours of time, wide-ranging talents, and resources in the name of our students' success!

We believe in a strong partnership between Fennimore Community Schools and the communities within our district.

Our priorities are to:

  • Provide the best possible well rounded education for our students. This encompasses academics, social/emotional learning and co-curricular activities and clubs.

  • Celebrate and promote the incredible achievements of our students and community.

  • Guarantee equal access to opportunities and resources for all students at all grade levels.

  • Provide events and performances that showcase student talent and provide entertainment for community members of all ages.

  • Partner with the City of Fennimore to provide summer swim lessons and youth summer recreational leagues and camps.

  • Utilize the expertise of our local businesses, community organizations, SWTC, CESA and our vast agricultural community to provide our students with hands-on experiences and career exploration.

  • Utilize our Silver Cord program to have our High school students engage in various volunteer activities to contribute positively to their community.

  • Encourage our students to explore their career passions and offer opportunities to those who wish to enter the field of education and return to Fennimore.

  • Ensure the safety of our students, staff and community.  We are grateful for the ongoing collaboration with the local police department, fire department, EMT’s and safety personnel at SWTC.
