4th graders sit under a covered bridge at Stonefield

Fourth graders visited Stonefield Village on Tuesday, May 23.  They experienced the more than 100 year old village and learned about how the different businesses served customers in the early 1900’s. In the village they learned about general stores. General stores had butcher shops, post offices and many other goods that people needed. They compared prices of goods then and now. At the creamery, they learned how farmers got their milk to the creamery and how butter was made. Fourth graders learned about school in the early 1900’s by participating in a one-room schoolhouse lesson.  In the Agricultural Museum we learned about the progression of farming from hand-held tools to engine powered machines. The fourth graders had a great day learning about the history of Wisconsin!
