a collage of pictures of 2nd graders at the apple orchard

After learning about apples and the life cycle of an apple tree, the 2nd grade visited three different apple orchards near Gays Mills - Kickapoo Orchards, Sunrise Orchards, and Fleming Orchards. The kids got a chance to see the process of boxing up apples, walking into a big cooler filled with stacks of boxes of apples, and saw a wide variety of different apples grown in the orchards. They had to wear hair nets, just like the workers, so as not to get hair into any of the apple products! They got to taste 2 different kinds of apple cider - half the children liked one of them the best, the other kids liked the other cider the best! The apple donuts were tasty as well! They also got to go into the orchard and pick one apple for their very own to eat or save for later! The 2nd grade also had a lot of fun running through a corn maze! It was an apple-licious day! #fes #EaglesSoar
