Last Friday, the fourth graders went on a field trip to the Platteville Historic Encampment. They had a great time learning how people lived a long time ago. The fourth graders learned about fur trappers trapping animals and how they exchanged their furs for food, cloth or other things they needed. They also learned about sharpening tools and how blacksmiths turned iron into helpful tools and items needed at the time. Then they got the chance to play some games that the children played, like Graces, Jacob’s ladder and Hoops. They also watched the 1812 Prairie du Chien Militia Cannon Drill. It was a great day of learning and fun!
