In the high school Spanish classes, they recently participated in the Locotubre competition, which is a March Madness style bracket of popular Latin music organized by a Spanish teacher in Michigan. 639 total schools participated, from all 50 states, and 10 different countries. In each of Mrs. Lathrop's classes, the student with the best bracket won a certificate, and a small prize package.
The winners were Braden White and Izabella Bender in Spanish 2; McKenna Helms and Syler Zdanczewicz in Spanish 1; and Isaac Wheeler Bonilla in Spanish 3. The winning song was Cun Cun Prá by Cimafunk, a singer from Cuba. ¡Felicidades to the winners!
