Class of the Week - Mr. Z's Class

This week's Class of the Week is Mr. Z's 5th Grade Class. This year Mr. Z's students are off to a tremendous start, receiving many compliments from teachers and staff members around the school. They are a hard-working group of kids that know how to be respectful to themselves and others. After recently finishing the book, Number the Stars, these 5th graders became curious and  learned quite a bit about World War II and the Holocaust. They also enjoy reading a variety of books independently and sharing their stories with each other. Math so far has consisted of mastering multiplication and is quickly moving onto division. Besides studying the moon and its different phases in science, Mr. Z's students are also learning about what it takes to make a plant grow by keeping their very own plants alive. Next, in Social Studies, students are learning about the beginning of our country, specifically the Thirteen Colonies at first and now just beginning to learn about the U.S. Constitution. Finally, the kiddos are doing an excellent job of bringing their music recorders to practice every Monday and beginning to prepare for their Winter Concert. Keep up the great work 5th graders!
