Class of the Week - Mrs. Melcher's Class

This week's Class of the Week is Mrs. Melcher's 3rd Grade Class. Mrs. Melcher's students have been having so much fun in 3rd grade! In reading, they have read various stories, including expository texts, folktales, and historical fiction to learn about main idea & key details, as well as, theme. They have also used various hands-on activities to work on their long o, u, & i spelling patterns, different kinds of sentences, nouns, antonyms, plurals, and much more! In math, they have been working hard on perimeter and area. They have also continued to work on mastering their multiplication and division facts using great math resources like Xtra Math, IXL, and Prodigy! In science, they have been learning about fossils and dinosaurs. They were able to use the skulls and teeth of different animals and dinosaurs to identify whether they were a carnivore, herbivore, or omnivore. They were also given the opportunity to type up their letters to Santa with Mrs. Droessler and have started a countdown to winter break. This countdown includes various fun activities, such as creating bookmarks for the other 3rd grade classes, having a paper snowball fight, making winter crafts, and much more! Mrs. Melcher has had a blast with these hard working, respectful, & responsible 3rd graders, and looks forward to the rest of the year! Keep up the great work 3rd Graders! #fes #EaglesSoar
