Class of the week - Mrs. Kamps' Class

This week's Class of the Week is Mrs. Kamps' 4th Grade Class. Mrs. Kamps' students have been learning about equal rights. They read stories about Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. They learned how these individuals organized boycotts, protests, and sit-ins as they worked to ensure that all people, regardless of  gender or skin color, are treated the same.

They recently completed a social studies unit about Wisconsin. They learned about Wisconsin when it was a territory and how it became a state. They discussed treaties and how Native Americans lost their land. They also learned that the first state capital was in Belmont and that Nelson Dewey, the first governor of Wisconsin, lived in Cassville. Now they will switch to science where they will be studying heat.

The class is also doing research on different diseases in health class. They will be creating a Google slideshow when the research is complete. Math class has the students working on fractions.

This class has been working hard this year. They have been flexible, kind, caring, responsible, and respectful.
