Collage of 4K students holding their certificates from learning how to tie their shoes

Tying shoes is an important skill for kids to learn since it’s not just about shoes — it’s also about coordination. To tie a shoe, children must be able to use their fine motor skills to tie the knot, use the appropriate tension to tighten the laces so the shoe won’t fall off, and do all the steps in the correct order. The best way to learn how to do this is by practicing and that is just what our 4K students did. Practice, practice, practice!

This week, in a celebration complete with fancy ties and certificates, 4K teachers annouced that all of their students were able to tie their shoes on their own. Great job 4K students and  remember to keep practicing your shoe tying at home and in school!
