On Thursday, May 19, 2022, fourth grade students went to Stonefield Village in Cassville. Stonefield Village is a historical landmark showing what life was like in the 1900’s.

One of the first things we did was go to the Stonefield Village Agricultural Museum where we learned how people used to struggle with farming and how they upgraded their technology.

Another thing we did was to go to Stonefield Village itself. There, we went to the school house where children in 1st through 8th grade all went to school at the same time. We learned about the three Rs: Reading, Writing, and ‘rhythmatic. During our lessons we wrote on slates like the kids in the 1900’s.

We also enjoyed going to the Coop Creamery and learning what kinds of milk can and can’t make butter. We even made butter and ate it with pretzels. We enjoyed learning about how different life was from now. Stonefield Village is a great place to learn about history and how people lived in the past.
