a collage of pictures of 2nd grade students using spaghetti sticks and marshmallows to build a tower for a STEM challenge

Second grade students in Mrs. Miles' class recently completed a STEM challenge. Students were each given 20 pieces of dry spaghetti noodles, a strip of tape, a piece of string, and a marshmallow. Their goal was to work together to build the tallest standing tower with the marshmallow on top.  All of the towers ended up being about the same height but the students had a great time working together to try and figure out the best way to make the tower stand!
