5th graders outside at Bethel Horizons pose for a picture with their hard hats on

The 5th graders headed to Bethel Horizons earlier this week for a day of adventure and fun! The weather was beautiful which made for a wonderful day for outside activities! The students participated in fun activities, like a zip-line, a giant swing, and a rope course.  The activities provided students with a chance to work together in a safe and fun environment. Students also learned a lot about themselves, their capabilities, and their strengths, as they went outside their comfort zone to try new things and overcome their fears.  For more pictures and videos from the day visit our SmugMug Gallery.

Here's what a few of our 5th grade students had to say about their trip to Bethel Horizons when they were asked about their favorite part.

  • The swing because I went all the way to the top and when the swing started to go down, it went down super fast and it was really fun. - Mason
  • I liked the swing because it was fun to go up in the air and have everyone cheering for you to get to the top. I also liked how we got to yell at our class to see if they were ready to pull you. -Whitney
  • My favorite part about Bethel Horizons was doing the rope course with Austin because we had to close our eyes and the other person had to direct us.. -Kaleb
  • Definitely the zip line! You had to climb a huge pole, and being on the 2 foot platform was the scariest part, but the zip line was fun. - Koy
  • My favorite part was the zip line because it was high up and I liked how we got to climb up there. We worked together so the person who was climbing would not fall. That is one of my favorite parts about Bethel Horizons. I would love to go on that field trip again. -Abby
  • The giant swing was so much fun! First you get hooked up from your harness, and then you shout "haul team are you ready" and then they would pick up one of the ropes that was connected to your harness and you would start to rise into the air. Then when you are ready you shout "Stop" and you would ask the worker can I swing and he would say swing on and you would pull a string connecting from your harness and swoosh you were off. You would go soaring through the air and when you would slow down you would go on a ladder and you would be disconnected from the ropes and then you would get of the ladder and get back on the ground. -Ella
