This week, December 6-12, is known as Computer Science Education Week! During this week every year the Hour of Code takes place.
The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts.
Many students will be participating here at school and we encourage everyone to try this at home as well! Happy Coding!

Last week Spanish students traced their hands to make feathers for the classroom “Pavo.” In the middle they wrote “doy gracias por” (I give thanks for), and on each finger something they are thankful for like “mi familia” or “vacaciones.” ¡Feliz día de acción de gracias!

Are you watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade today? Mrs. Schoenberg's class talked about the parade and did their own balloons over Broadway this week. Students were instructed to create different balloons that you would see in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. They used a lot of creativity to make their ideas come to life! #fes #EaglesSoar

Mrs. Reinke's class has been learning about the Pilgrims and their long voyage across the Atlantic on the Mayflower. For a STEM activity, they had to create a "Mayflower" using nothing but tinfoil, a coffee filter and one pipe cleaner. The goal was to make the boat sturdy enough to carry 102 people (marbles). They learned it is hard to create a boat that can carry that much weight without sinking! #fes #EaglesSoar

Reminder there is an early release tomorrow, November 24th. Also remember there is no school on Thursday or Friday.
🦃Happy Thanksgiving!🦃

A big shout-out to those who represented Fennimore Middle School at the CESA 3 Quiz Bowl competition at Southwest Technical College yesterday. 4th Graders have been busy making Native American Dioramas. 4th grade students Maya, Ariana, and Kahlia recently shared more about this project.
In 4th grade we are making dioramas about different Native American tribes in Wisconsin. We have written down information about the different tribes to include in our dioramas. Here are a few facts we have chosen to tell you about. The Paleo people lived under rock shelters. The Archaic people ate deer, elk, rabbits, berries, and nuts. The Oneota people were fantastic farmers. The Mississippian people ate rabbits and deer. The Woodland people used spears to hunt. Learning about Native American Tribes in Wisconsin has been fun and interesting!
