Our first graders had an unforgettable adventure visiting the Faherty Recycling Center and Smith Park! Can you believe the entire group weighed over 6,000 pounds? At the recycling center, students watched a dump truck unload materials, saw cardboard being baled, and even witnessed a ball get popped! They learned about what can be recycled and were amazed to discover that recycled materials can become jeans, decking, carpet, and even countertops. After the tour, the fun continued with lots of playtime at Smith Park. What a fun day of learning and laughter! #fes #EaglesSoar

The 2nd graders recently visited Eagle Cave, the largest Onyx Cave in Wisconsin. They were able to explore the different rooms in the cave and learn about the history of the cave. Students also went on a gold nugget hunt and took a wagon ride through the campground. It was a great day of learning and adventure! #fes #EaglesSoar

Students in Mrs. Langmeier's 5th grade class have been hard at work bringing history to life through the play, A Fair Day's Wages — a powerful story about immigration and the journey of families settling in New York City. These talented students shared their performance with various classrooms across FES and invited parents, grandparents, and special guests to celebrate their creativity, teamwork, and what they’ve learned. #fes #EaglesSoar

On a cold and rainy day at the end of April, the 3rd graders took a fun and exciting field trip to Cave of the Mounds. Even though the weather outside was wet and chilly, the students were amazed by the underground world inside the cave. They learned about how stalactites hang from the ceiling and stalagmites grow from the ground, forming over thousands of years from dripping water. The cool, dark cave was full of interesting shapes and colors, and everyone had a great time exploring and learning something new about nature and geology. #fes #EaglesSoar

From warming the eggs in incubators to watching them crack open, it was a month full of excitement, learning, and fluffy cuteness! Great job 2nd graders! #EaglesSoar #FES

Our FES 5th graders had a fun and educational adventure earlier this week at the Rollo Jamison and Mining Museum in Platteville! From exploring fascinating historic artifacts to heading underground into a real lead mine, students experienced hands-on history like never before. After the tour, they enjoyed a picnic lunch and playtime at Platteville’s Inclusive Park, followed by a hike up the iconic “M”—a true Wisconsin tradition! Thanks to all the teachers, museum staff, parent chaperones, and bus drivers who made this day such a success! #EaglesSoar
