Fennimore Community Schools

Students in Mrs. Bunns’ 5th grade science classes took on the challenge of cleaning up an oil spill — all while working within a budget! Using teamwork and problem-solving skills, students worked together to decide how to best use their materials to tackle the spill. This real-world activity helped them think critically while learning about environmental responsibility. Great work, 5th graders! #fes #EaglesSoar

The fourth graders recently participated in an engaging presentation about the Civil War. They learned about the roles and responsibilities of men, women, and children during this time, as well as what daily life was like for soldiers, including the supplies and tools they used. The students enjoyed the presentation and gained a deeper understanding of life during the Civil War.

Congrats to the FHS Speech team for qualifying all 27 District entries for the State Competition this past weekend. There are still 4 virtual entries awaiting results. Congrats to the team on their tremendous accomplishment! The State Speech Festival is Friday, April 17th at UW-Madison. Great job Speech Team! #EagleSoar #Speech

On Wednesday, March 11th, 7th and 8th-grade band students went to Dove Healthcare in Fennimore to perform their solo and ensemble events for the residents.

Handbell choir played Celebration No. 1 in G and Celebration No. 5 in C from 5 Easy Celebrations, The Special Ensemble played Triton Fanfare by Robert W. Smith, and various solos were performed by Emma Fry, Josephine Spraggon, Yeraldin Marin Bartolo, and Henry Volz. Triton Fanfare and the solos were accompanied by Tim Durst.

Who knew a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors could turn into a lesson on perseverance? 💪

Today’s contest brought out determination, focus, and a whole lot of competitive spirit! Every round was a reminder that success isn’t just about winning—it’s about staying in the game, learning, and maybe even getting a little lucky!

👏 Big congratulations to Addie for taking the win in the first round, and to Alejandro for taking care of business in the second round!

We are proud of everyone who participated and showed resilience and patience through each round. Keep showing up, keep trying, and keep growing! 🎉

Students from 4th and 5th grade participated in a reading comprehension competition last week at SWTC called Lit Wars. Each student was tested on their expert knowledge of the books they've read as well as a team competition. Our 5th grade team received 3rd place. Individually, Zeeva Orth received 3rd place and Annie Winkers received 2nd place. Great job students! #fes #EaglesSoar

A few weeks ago, third graders “blasted off” into an exciting ELA unit all about space! They explored topics like the planets, our solar system, Earth’s rotation, and gravity, just to name a few. To celebrate the end of the unit, students took part in some truly “out of this world” activities, including galaxy painting, astronaut exercises, making cookie phases of the moon, and creating their own moon rocks! #fes #EaglesSoar
