As part of our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program at the elementary school, students have been earning tokens for following our school rules, which they can redeem for books from our book vending machine. This initiative has been a fantastic way to encourage reading and reinforce good behavior! #fes #EaglesSoar

Earlier this week our 5th and 7th grade girls traveled to UW-Platteville for the Pioneering Your Future in STEM event. Each year, the UWP Women in STEM program hosts this event focusing on career exploration for girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Our students had a great day learning about all the future career possibilities for women in STEM. #fes #EaglesSoar

Don't miss out on the fun! FES Student Council's special dress-up day is tomorrow, Friday, March 21st. Come dressed as your favorite famous person! Who will you be? #fes #EaglesSoar

Ever wondered how many monsters tall you are? Our first graders did! They measured a friend in monster units and then compared and graphed the class data. They did a little math, a little measuring, and had a whole lot of fun! #fes #EaglesSoar

Mrs. Williams-Richter recently visited Mrs. Reinke's classroom to read the book entitled The Button Box by Margarette Reid. Mrs. WR also shared her button collection. Students were surprised to learn that buttons once were made from wood, deer horns and shells. Some of the shell buttons were made from clam shells collected locally from the Mississippi River. The highlight of the day for many students was learning how to make a button hum on a string. The students thought this book definitely deserved to bow before they gave it a nice round of applause! #fes #EaglesSoar

Last week, the fourth graders embarked on an exciting field trip to Madison, where they had the opportunity to visit the Veterans' Museum and the State Capitol. At the Veterans' Museum, students learned about Wisconsin's significant involvement in various wars, including the Civil War, World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War. This immersive experience deepened their understanding of the sacrifices made by our veterans. Following their time at the museum, the students explored the State Capitol, where they visited the Supreme Court room, the Assembly's room, the Senate's room, and the Governor's Conference room. This field trip is a great way to enrich student's knowledge of Wisconsin's history and inspire a greater appreciation for civic engagement and the democratic process. #fes #EaglesSoar
