Earlier this month on a beautiful spring day, 4th grade classes joined the Fennimore FFA group for an exciting field trip that explored the journey of food from farm to table. They began at Winch's Dairy Farm, learning about the milking process . Next, they learned about and planted a tomato plant at Sugar and Spice and discovered how different animal feeds are made at Reddy Ag. Their visit to Bender's Food showed how food is processed and packaged, while Udder Brothers delighted the students with samples of local dairy products. This wonderful experience deepened student's appreciation for local farmers and the vital role they play in providing food for our community. #fes #EaglesSoar

To wrap up their space unit, third grade students took part in a series of fun, hands-on STEM projects. They built a scale model to show the distances between planets and the Sun, launched “space rocks” with catapults, designed safe landings for “aliens,” and created models to show how the Earth, Sun, and Moon move. These projects were a blast and helped students explore big ideas in an out-of-this-world way! #fes #EaglesSoar For more pictures, please visit https://fcs.smugmug.com/2024-25-School-Year/Fennimore-Elementary-School-2024-25/3rd-Grade-2024-25/Space-Unit

The Kindergarten classes recently took their spring field trip to Grant Regional Health Center. Each class had the opportunity to tour the hospital and participate in a skills lab where they got to try out many of the things nurses and doctors use every day! A few favorites from the trip include seeing a brand new baby in the nursery, going on the roof to see the helipad, and getting to try out a hospital bed. The classes would like to thank Grant Regional and their employees and volunteers for making their fun afternoon possible! #fes #EaglesSoar For more pictures please visit https://fcs.smugmug.com/2024-25-School-Year/Fennimore-Elementary-School-2024-25/Kindergarten-2024-25/Hospital

Last Friday, the Fennimore Tree Board visited the FES morning assembly. Margaret Sprague, who is a member of both the School Board and the Tree Board, announced that the Tree Board would like to honor the FES 2025 students with a grove of trees. She then presented a certificate from the Arbor Day Foundation, explaining that a grove of 85 trees will be planted in a forest in need, dedicated to FES students. We extend a heartfelt thank you to the Fennimore Tree Board and the Arbor Day Foundation for this meaningful tribute. #fes #EaglesSoar

Fennimore FBLA showed up at the State Conference in a big way this year, placing 4th out of 81 schools in the Small Schools Division. Plus, 16 of the 33 members that attended placed in the top 10. Congrats to all the students for a great conference. Good luck to the 9 members competing at Nationals this summer. #FBLAPride
