Third, fourth and fifth grade students all worked on their keyboarding skills during the school year. They did a great job learning home row and building up their stamina for keyboarding, but just like any new skill, touch typing takes continued practice. Below are a few sites that students can use to keep practicing their skills over the summer.

Fennimore community schools summer office hours will be slightly different than school-year hours. Monday - Thursday will stay the same: 7:30 to 4:00. Prior to coming to the elementary & middle/high school buildings on Fridays, please call the office to ensure someone is there.

Elementary Yearbook update: The office has not received the elementary yearbooks yet but as soon as they get them, they will let parents know and they will be able to stop by and pick them up or they can be sent home with students in the fall. Thank you for your patience. #EaglesSoar

Today marks the last official "last" day of school for many of our retirees. We are honored to have had them as part of our work family for so many years. The impact they have had on students over the years is immeasurable.
Thank you for serving the students and families in the Fennimore Community School District!

1st grade students from Mrs. Bunn's class enjoyed doing Reader's Theatre these last weeks! Reader's theater is a strategy that combines reading practice and performing and these first graders nailed it! #fes #EaglesSoar

As a culmination of their landform unit, the 2nd graders got to go "spelunking" (cave exploring) in the Eagle Cave near Blue River. Thanks goes out to Wes, Michelle, and Kyle Hanke for providing this cave experience. In addition to the tour of the cave, the kids went on a "gold" hunt hike, took a wagon ride through the campgrounds, and even played miniature golf. #fes #EaglesSoar

Students in Mrs. Langmeier's Social Studies Classes recently studied History topics from the "1950's and Beyond" using a computer based program called Freedom Flix for their research. Some students also did some digging into their own family's history and learned about relatives that served in the Korean War, Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War, and Operation Enduring Freedom. Students shared what they learned with their classmates after creating posters using hand drawn objects, printed pictures, and some even brought in pictures and newspaper articles about family members and used them as artifacts. The students also visited the Veterans' Memorial in town and learned some interesting facts at the Legion Building from Curtis Cole. The students learned about the sacrifices made by all veterans and the true meaning of Memorial Day. #fes #EaglesSoar
