Fennimore's 2nd graders have been learning about different animal groups and the characteristics of each group. They focused on mainly animals with backbones (vertebrates). Each student picked out an animal that he or she wanted to research more. The kids chose facts to put on their animal posters with pictures and any other details to make their poster inviting and interesting to read. Each 2nd grader presented his or her poster to the class sharing facts he or she found interesting about their animal. Great job, 2nd graders!

This week's Class of the Week is Mrs. Neisius' Fifth Grade Class. They have been very busy! They have just started reading their first trade book in reading and continue to work on their phonics. In science they are charting the moon, and learning how to use a dichotomous key to classify shells and beans. They are also working on a lab to see if the positioning of a bean makes a difference on how the beans roots and stem will grow. In this class picture, Mrs. Neisius' students are observing the Red Ribbon Week pajama day and "following their dreams instead of doing drugs." Keep up the great work 5th graders! #EaglesSoar #fes

Last week high school FFA students visited our 2nd graders. They talked to the students about how FFA is an important organization that helps students build premier leadership and enhances personal growth and career success. After introductions and discussion about FFA and the importance of agriculture in our community, the members taught 2nd graders how to be safe during Halloween trick and treating. Before leaving, the FFA students helped the 2nd graders build spiders with pipe cleaners and Tootsie Roll suckers. Mrs. Mitchell and the FFA members appreciate being able to work with the younger students and the 2nd graders loved having them visit! Enjoy trick or treating everyone and be safe out there this evening! #fes #EagleSoar

Best of luck to our Fennimore Runners today at the state meet! Go Eagles! #EaglesSoar

Last week, students in grades K-5 got the chance to attend an assembly at FES called the Magic of Science. The presenter demonstrated chemistry, optical illusions, numerology, magnetism and physics. Students were chosen to help demonstrate each of the branches of science. They learned that even though it looks like magic, there was a scientific explanation for the things that they witnessed. #EaglesSoar #fes

On October 19th, fourth grade traveled to Madison to see the capital. A student of Mrs. Wienkes' had a connection at the capital that presented her class with a flag that was flown in their honor.
