Sixth grade science students created a DNA double helix using licorice for the sugar phosphate and marshmallows representing the base pairs. They were then able to twist it to make the shape of a DNA strand.

All students participating in trivia night received their team slips and book lists earlier this week. They can check out a book each day from the library at school from 7:30-8:00 and all books from the book list are available at the Dwight Parker Public Library in Fennimore also. Happy Reading!

Students in 7th grade science are constructing earthquake-proof structures and analyzing the best designs to make buildings sturdy. The tallest structure that withstands a 10 second earthquake on a shake table is the winner.

Student council used inside recess last week to count the acts of kindness. In the short 3 day Kindness week, 859 acts of kindness were completed at FES! That is awesome!! Special thanks to Mrs. Ambort and all the student council members for organizing the Kindness Week activities and to everyone who participated.
Also, we have more exciting news! Due to our school’s participation in The Great Kindness Challenge, we have been awarded the honor of being a Kindness Certified School. Great job everyone!! #fes #EaglesSoar
