February is American Heart Month and tomorrow, February 4th is National Go Red for Women Day. Please join us in wearing red tomorrow to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease and help save lives.

Fennimore FFA held their local LDE speaking contest for Employment Skills at the end of January. Congratulations to Wesley Winch and Makenna Graney for qualifying to compete at the district speaking contest later on in February! Also a huge thank you to Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Goss, and Mrs. Carl for judging our competitors.
This month there will be two opportunities for our students to showcase their musical talent in different honors bands! First on February 11th, there is the Tri-State Honors Band to be held at UW-Platteville. Then on Feb 27th& 28th will be the Dorian Honors Band at Luther College in Iowa!

The SWAL Honors Choir was held this past Saturday in Darlington and many of our students had the opportunity to go and sing with their peers. From the high school there was [back] Mary Kate Rood, Mark Kenney, Austin Horn, Dalton Foreyt, James King, Lily Conley, [front] Natalie Koestler, Brandi Oechsle, and Sydney Stewart. The middle school sent [back] Shawn Jahnke, Jonathan King, Logan Koestler, Griffin Fry, [front] Piper Lewis, Rhiannon Nelson-Hahn and Tilla Cutting.

One highlight of the annual meeting yesterday was the announcement of this year's scholarship recipients. 22 students, representing 16 different school districts each received $500 scholarships this year. 2nd grade students from Mrs. Reinke's class and Mrs. Kauffman's class planted two varieties of milkweed seeds in milk jugs with Mrs. Williams-Richter. The jugs were watered and placed outside for cold stratification, a necessary step for milkweed to grow. The students look forward to seeing milkweed seedlings early in May. #fes #EaglesSoar

All tickets will be purchased in advance through WIAA digital ticketing partner GoFan. Everyone is encouraged to purchase tickets before they arrive to the event to expediate their entry into the facility.

Good luck goes out to DaKota Northouse and Rachel Schauer, who will be competing at the first ever WIAA Girls State Wrestling Tournament this Saturday! Last year Rachel also competed at the Girls State Wrestling tournament before it became an official WIAA sport!
DaKota is currently ranked 7th in the state! Rachel is currently ranked 2nd in the State and 10th Nationally! They will be competing in La Crosse at 9:00am. The finals will be at 6:30 pm. Updates will be posted on Facebook as they happen!
