Congrats to Matthew Winch on being selected for the Wisconsin Agriculture Youth Council! The council was created in 2020 to get students involved in the state government and gain awareness of how the state interacts with Wisconsin's agriculture industry.

The Fennimore agriculture students once again would love to help you purchase your summer plants! Located in the back of the MS/HS building, they will have vegetables, flowers, house plants, and trees!

The National Honor Society Induction Ceremony was held Wednesday, April 17th.
This year all sophomores, juniors and seniors meeting the GPA requirement of 3.5 or higher were sent an email that included details about the Fennimore chapter of the National Honor Society and an application to apply. The application consisted of listing leadership positions, service activities, and a personal statement that asked them to express their core values, beliefs and describe how they display character. Including how those values support their academic success and service to others. A deadline is set for the information to be reviewed by a five member faculty council. The faculty council meets to review the applications and makes their selections based on the information provided.
The pictures below show our outstanding new and current members.

Egg-citement levels are brewing at FES! The second grade classrooms have been learning about the life cycle of the chicken and are lucky enough to have an area farmer, John Linneman, bring fertilized eggs in! Right now, the eggs are in incubators set around 100 degrees. The chicks will need 21 days in the egg to develop. After a few days, Ms. Schwingle's class used a bright light to shine through each egg. This is called "candling." They looked for the "dark streak" that indicates something has started growing in the egg. In some eggs, they could even see the heart and blood vessels that have already formed! They can't wait until hatching day! #fes #EaglesSoar

Spanish 2 students attended the first annual World Language Day event at UW-Platteville. They learned some interesting facts about world languages and viewed a variety of performances by university language students. This included a vocal performance and a skit in German, poetry and cooking demonstrations in Spanish, a French fable about the crow and the fox, and a Chinese dance. After the event, they enjoyed a muy delicioso lunch at Fiesta Cancun.

The Kindergarten Classes recently wrapped up their Hospital Unit. They were fortunate enough to visit Grant Regional Health Center to see everything they learned about in real life! Missy, Rochelle, Hannah and Kami put on a wonderful tour. Students had the opportunity to try many of the important tools doctors and nurses use to keep people safe and healthy while in the hospital. They also toured the hospital which included a special trip to the roof to see the helipad! The kindergarten classes want to say a big "thank you" to Grant Regional for a wonderful trip! #fes #EaglesSoar

Recently the third-grade students finished their Biography Unit. Exploring the biographies of famous figures helps students develop their critical thinking, understand multiple perspectives, and learn about different times in history. They showcased their understanding by crafting essays and constructing bottle buddy models representing their selected personalities. Well done, third graders!
Don't forget to visit the 3rd grade hallway tomorrow night during Fine Arts Night to check out the bottle buddies. #fes #EagleSoar

Fourth grade students presented their family history projects recently. Students focused on the terms like immigration and migration to describe how their families ended up in the Fennimore area. It is always fun to learn how and why students end up in the area! #fes #EaglesSoar
