Our second-grade students worked hard at home to design detailed landscapes showcasing various landforms. Leading up to the project, they took part in hands-on crafts and experiments at school, deepening their understanding and knowledge of different landforms. Their creativity and hard work were evident in the final projects, highlighting all they learned throughout the unit. #fes #EaglesSoar

For 40 years, March has been designated by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) as Music In Our Schools Month® (MIOSM®). The positive impact of music education in the lives of students lasts a lifetime. Therefore, ensuring equitable access to music education for the youngest members of our society—students—is paramount.
Every day, in classrooms and rehearsal rooms across our school district, music educators dedicate themselves to reaching all students with life-changing musical experiences. Parents, administrators, and the wider community often only see the wonderful results of music performances; however, we miss the months of practice and rehearsals and more importantly the learning process that takes place to make it all happen.
I encourage members in our community to acknowledge and celebrate music education as an essential part of every student’s educational journey.

This week's Class of the Week is Mrs. Reinke's 2nd Grade Class. These 2nd graders have been hard at work! In reading, they are using their phonics and grammar skills to help them become better readers. They are working on reading fluently and with expression. In math, they have been practicing adding three digit numbers and will soon move on to subtracting three digit numbers. In science, the second graders have been learning about landforms. Students are working hard on their landform dioramas at home, which they will share with the school and their parents at the Landform Exhibit at the end of the month. At school, they are doing Mystery Science lessons and even creating landforms out of food. Yummy! Keep up the great work 2nd Graders! #fes #EaglesSoar

The FES morning assembly was full of excitement with a Valentines themed student-teacher challenge! One name was drawn from each bag of grade level Eagle Wings that were turned in. That student and their teacher had to work together to stand up as many Valentine candy hearts as they could in one minute! It was close, but Mrs. Streeter and her first grade friend came in first! They stood up 35 candy hearts! Great job to all the contestants and students please remember to keep earning those wings by following our PBIS school rules of "be respectful, be responsible and be safe!" #fes #EaglesSoar
