The fourth graders visited the capital and Wisconsin Historical Society Museum on October 19th. First, they took a picture in the rotunda with Senator Marklein. Then, they went around the capitol and saw a lot of important rooms like the Supreme Court Chambers, Assembly Chamber, the Senate Room and the Governor's Office. At the museum students saw displays including a Native American wigwam, a house made by the Aztalan natives, and learned how Stephen Babcock came up with the Babcock test on milk. We enjoyed our day learning about our state's capital!

This week's Class of the Week is Mrs. Greenlee's 4th Grade Class. The fourth graders in Mrs. Greenlee’s Class are working hard to be great classmates and great learners. They have worked on finding the main idea and key details in reading along with writing friendly letters. The fourth graders are doing an amazing job finding text evidence and writing answers to reading questions. In math they have expanded their knowledge of place value and are working hard applying math facts to multiplication problems. During health they are learning about how to make healthier choices at their favorite restaurants. In science they learned that to be an inventor you will not always have things work the first time, you need to keep trying! In social studies they are learning about the effects of the glaciers on Wisconsin and that they live in the driftless area. They are also learning about what happens at the Capitol to prepare for their visit there next week. Mrs. Greenlee’s Class is off to a wonderful start and are looking forward to having a great year! Keep up the great work 4th graders!

Red Ribbon Week is coming next week to FES! The annual National Red Ribbon Campaign™ began in 1985. The campaign's goals are to educate youth on the dangers of drug use and the importance of making healthy choices. The theme this year is "Celebrate life, live drug free". This theme is a reminder that everyday Americans across the country make significant daily contributions to their communities by being the best they can be because they live Drug-Free! Please join us in this celebration with our special dress up days all next week! #EaglesSoar

It was a chilly day, but that didn't stop the Kindergarten students from having a blast at Vesperman Farms! The kids enjoyed feeding the goats and petting other animals, exploring the mini corn maze, zipping down the zip line, taking a wagon ride, picking a pumpkin, and other fun activities at the farm. #EaglesSoar
