During August and September Collision Specialists of Fennimore and Livingston ran a back-to-school fundraiser to help raise funds for area schools. The business donated a percentage of each sale to the customer’s school of choice. Several customers chose Fennimore Schools during the fundraiser which equaled a $2,285.42 donation to the school district.
Collision Specialists understands communities are built around local schools and looks forward to this fundraiser every year. Since the fundraiser’s inception in 2012 they have donated over $35,000 to area school districts. This year alone, they were able to raise over $8,200 for 13 different school districts. A huge thanks to Collision Specialist staff and customers for supporting Fennimore Schools! #EaglesSoar

The 3rd Graders enjoyed their pumpkin week with many activities based on Reading, Social Studies, Science, and Math Skills. They read pumpkin stories and weighed, measured, and counted seeds from their pumpkins. They also learned about the life cycle of pumpkins. Their biggest activity was learning their oceans and continents and painting their pumpkins like a globe. A huge thank you to LuAnna Staskal for donating the pumpkins again this year. The 3rd grade teachers and students really appreciate the donation and look forward to this pumpkin week every year! #EaglesSoar

It is National School Bus Safety Week (NSBSW). National School Bus Safety Week reminds students, parents, teachers, and the community to keep school bus safety at the forefront.
Roughly 54% of all K-12 students in the United States rely on school bus transportation. More than 25 million children ride school buses daily throughout the United States. That accounts for 47,000,000 trips daily – before you include an estimated 5,000,000 more for activity trips. Let's all do our part to keep our students and drivers safe! #EaglesSoar

This week's Class of the Week is Mrs. Schoenberg's 3rd Grade Class. Mrs. Schoenberg's Class has been working hard on mastering their multiplication facts. They have been learning different strategies to use when multiplying. In reading they have been working on finding the main idea and the key details in a text. Last Friday they went on a field trip to Folklore Village and learned about different games and dances from the past. They even made their own wool balls. This week they have been celebrating Pumpkin Week and have been creating their own pumpkin globes and learning about the life cycle of pumpkins. This class has been so fun to get to know and it will be exciting to watch them continue to grow! Keep up the great work 3rd Graders!

3rd Graders visited Folklore Village by Dodgeville last Friday. During their trip they learned about how folklore is passed from generation to generation. They also learned about where wool comes from, its many uses, and what is made from it. All students got to make a ball from wool by forming it into felt. The visit to the one-room school house was interesting and the students enjoyed playing some of the games that the children who attended school back then would have played. To end the afternoon, students were taught how to dance the waltz and a couple other dances that were popular many years ago. It was a great day of learning and playing. #EaglesSoar

Last week during unit time, Ms. Govier's 5K learned about the color brown and bears. They read stories, made a bear headband, and ended the week with a teddy bear picnic! The class enjoyed a story and milk break outside. They loved the chance to bring a bear from home! #EagleSoar

Last Friday the 2nd graders took a trip to the Kickapoo Orchards near Gays Mills. In Science, they have been learning about the apple tree life cycle, the parts of the apple, and about different varieties of apples. At the apple orchard they learned about how the apple farmers take care of their apple trees. The kids learned there is a correct way to pick an apple from the tree, so that next year's apples will be able to grow. They each got to try out that method by picking their own apples. The kids learned another technique of apple picking - buffing and shining up their apples on their "buffers" (their bellies) before the part they were anxiously waiting for - eating their apples!
Workers at the orchard treated the 2nd graders to apple cider and apple cider doughnuts. Asking the kids what their favorite part of the trip was, most said the sunflower maze!! On the way back from Gays Mills, the classes ate their lunches at the park in Boscobel and had a little play time there! It was a fantastic day all around!
Thanks to Julie and staff at the Kickapoo Apple Orchard for hosting the Fennimore 2nd graders! #EaglesSoar

This week's Class of the Week is Mrs. Timmerman's Kindergarten Class. Recently, Mrs. Timmerman's students learned about the color blue. As part of that unit they learned about the police. They were very excited to have Police Chief French come and talk to them about his job at the Fennimore Police Department. Riding the bus in the homecoming parade was also very exciting! They are working hard at learning the letters in the alphabet and the sounds that they make. In math they are practicing counting and writing numbers. Keep up the great work 5K friends!
