A huge thank you to all of our Crossing Guards who brave the weather each day to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and parents. #EaglesSoar #fes

Last week, the first grade classes took a field trip to The Heritage Center in Dubuque to see three puppet shows about The Rainbow Fish. The different ocean animal puppets were amazing! After the performance the actors had a Q & A session and the first graders got to see how the actors kept themselves hidden and made the puppets move. #fes #EaglesSoar

February is National Children's Dental Health Month. Last week Mrs. Demo visited Kindergarten to teach the kids about teeth and dental health. The students learned how to keep their teeth healthy by brushing and flossing. They even learned about certain foods they can eat that help keep their teeth healthy. Thank you for sharing your knowledge Mrs. Demo! #fes #EaglesSoar
On Monday, February 5th, Fennimore Elementary students welcomed Opera For The Young (OFTY) members to perform Andre Gretry's "Beauty And The Beast" opera with the help of 16 fourth and fifth grade students. The OFTY was founded in Madison in 1970 and has been bringing the world of opera into schools since then. Students and their music teachers are given the materials to learn ahead of time, and 16 of our students worked very hard many mornings with Miss Stolte to be ready to perform with the four opera professionals. Our students were dressed as tropical birds, a strawberry, and a banana! With about a half hour of practice with OFTY pros, they were ready for their debut. The student audience enjoyed the music, sets, and costumes and look forward to doing this again sometime. #fes #EaglesSoar

Last month, some of our 4th and 5th grade students got the chance to attend a Math 24 Contest at Southwest Technical College. Math 24 is a card game that challenges players to manipulate four numbers on cards through addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to arrive at a target number of 24. It is a fast paced game that is great for building mental arithmetic skills and strategic thinking. Congratulations and great job representing Fennimore Elementary! #fes #EaglesSoar
