Attention Fennimore Community - there is currently a phone scam calling businesses and community members asking for donations for Fennimore band t-shirts. This is not associated with our school in any way. Please do not donate money over the phone to anyone!

Earlier this month, fourth grade students had the opportunity to visit Madison to see our current capitol. While visiting the capital, students got to see where legislators pass laws and where our state's Supreme Court listens to the state's current issues. The students also made a stop in Belmont on the way to see Wisconsin's first capitol building. It was interesting to see where Wisconsin legislators first met and even more fun since it is in Southwest Wisconsin! Field trips like this are always a great as it helps students make connections to the Wisconsin history and government they learn about in class.

Yesterday, students from Fennimore High School traveled to UW-Platteville for a field trip. At the Women in STEM Career Day, students attended four sessions where they learned more about different disciplines of STEM and participated in different activities related to these fields. At the beginning of the event, they all completed a Lego bridge challenge before splitting up to attend different activities. Highlights from the day included trying on different safety equipment in the Industrial Studies session, completing mini labs in the Chemistry session, solving different puzzles and learning about Mobius strips in the Math session, and building rubber band cars in the Mechanical Engineering session. It was a great day of STEM fun!

Thank you Collision Specialists!
During August and September Collision Specialists of Fennimore and Livingston run their annual back to school fundraiser to help area schools. This year they raised over $9,600 dollars for the local schools which serve 15 different districts. Since 2012, Collision Specialist has donated over $46,000 to the area schools.
Customers who supported Fennimore School District helped raise $2,290 dollars which will assist students and families with clothing, school supplies and food. We are grateful for the support Greg Slack and his team at Collision Specialist provides our district each year!

Friday mornings = fun at FES! At today's morning assembly we celebrated all the great things happening at FES including handing out the 'Golden Slippers' to Mrs. Timmerman's Class for their excellent behavior in the hallways. There was also a lot of excitement as we had our second teacher challenge of the year. In our first teacher challenge earlier this year, Mrs. Wienkes held onto the Mrs. Edna Crabapple trophy with yet another win in the Oreo cookie challenge. But today, she passed the trophy to Mrs. Schoenberg for her win in the candy corn straw challenge. Great work everyone! #fes #EaglesSoar

This week's Class of the Week is Mrs. Wienkes' 4th Grade Class. Fourth grade students in Mrs. Wienkes' class have had a great start to the school year! In reading they have been working hard to find the theme of different folktales. In math, they are busy remembering their multiplication facts so they can start multiplying bigger numbers. They also did a fantastic job on their health projects they just presented. This group of kids have blown me away with their transition into fourth grade! This year is going to be successful in many ways! Keep up the great work 4th graders! #EaglesSoar #fes
