Our first graders had an exciting day on their very first field trip of the year! Earlier this week, they traveled to the University of Dubuque Heritage Center to enjoy a live performance of The Little Mermaid. After the show, they enjoyed a picnic lunch and some playtime at Flora Park. Even though the weather was a little chilly, the smiles and laughter kept everyone warm. #fes #EaglesSoar

📚 Sixth grade readers explored genres with Mrs. Ahnen this week! From mystery and fantasy to historical fiction and adventure, students discovered which genres they’re most drawn to through a fun, hands-on activity. They also discussed the importance of making time to read — and how many of the world’s most successful people are avid readers!

This week's Class of the Week is Mrs. Langmeier's 5th Grade Class. Mrs. Langmeier's Class has been busy this fall. They enjoyed the fifth grade field trip to Bethel Horizons recently where they worked on team building skills by doing a giant swing, zip lining, and a low ropes course in the woods. They have been reading the trade book Shiloh and working on personal narratives about their field trip experience. In Science, they have been studying all about food webs. In Social Studies, they have been learning about the American Revolutionary War. In Math, they have been working on their multiplication skills. They are enjoying the postcards they have received from all over the world through their Travel Journals, and they are displaying them on a classroom bulletin board until the end of the year. Keep up the good work 5th Graders!

Earlier this month, the Kindergarten classes enjoyed their Fall field trip to Vesperman Farms. They enjoyed an unusually warm fall afternoon at the farm filled with tractor rides to the pumpkin patch, feeding goats in the animal barn, and testing their brains in the mini corn maze. They had an awesome trip as always! They want to thank Vesperman Farms for opening their doors to student tours and the chaperones that joined them. Happy Fall Everyone! #fes #EaglesSoar
Congrats to Grendall for winning Student Council's Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin challenge! His guess of 16.7 lbs was the closest to the actual weight of 16.4 lbs. Great job Grendall! #FES #EaglesSoar
