The fifth graders had a beautiful Fall day for their recent field trip to Villa Louis in Prairie du Chien. While touring the mansion, built in the late 1800s, they learned about the Dousman family and how they lived during that period. The students also explored the layers of history on Feriole Island through a scavenger hunt adventure at the museum. After a picnic lunch by the Mississippi River, they traveled to Pike's Peak in McGregor, Iowa, where they took in the stunning views of the mighty Mississippi. To wrap up the day, they hiked to Bridal Veil Falls. The students not only learned about Prairie du Chien’s rich history but also made lasting memories with friends. #fes #EaglesSoar

This week's Class of the Week is Ms. Kauffman's 1st Grade Class. This class has been very busy at Fennimore Elementary. In CKLA Skills, the students are learning about digraphs and long vowels. They have applied their knowledge of digraphs and long vowels into their reading and writing as well! With it being Autumn, the students have enjoyed writing about apples and pumpkins. In Math, these first graders have been working on addition and subtraction strategies to 20. Some of their favorite strategies include doubles, near doubles, making ten, and using a part-part-whole chart. Each day these first graders impress their teacher with their hard work. Ms. Kauffman looks forward to seeing their progress throughout the school year. Way to go, first graders! #fes #EaglesSoar

The Kindergarten classes recently enjoyed their Fall field trip to Vesperman Farms. They enjoyed an unusually warm fall afternoon at the farm filled with tractor rides to the pumpkin patch, feeding goats in the animal barn, and testing their brains in the mini corn maze. They had an awesome trip as always! They want to thank Vesperman Farms for opening their doors to student tours and the chaperones that joined them. Happy Fall Everyone! #fes #EaglesSoar
