Our 5th graders had an incredible time at Bethel Horizons earlier this week! With encouragement from their classmates and teachers, they bravely climbed the pole and zipped down the zipline with big smiles and cheers. They also worked together in fun team-building challenges and cheered each other on while taking turns on the giant swing. The day was the perfect mix of adventure, laughter, and teamwork! #fes #EaglesSoar

Fennimore School Board member Margaret Sprague has been recognized by the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) for her outstanding commitment to professional development and leadership in public education.
Margaret earned Level 5 recognition—the highest honor awarded by WASB—by participating in extensive training opportunities focused on improving student achievement and strengthening public education. She currently serves as the Fennimore School Board’s WASB representative and has provided statewide leadership as a member of the WASB Policy and Resolutions Committee.
Level 5 recognition is reserved for the most active and dedicated school board members in Wisconsin. This year, only eight of the state’s 2,800 board members achieved this distinction. Recipients have gone well beyond the expectations of school board service to advance educational opportunities for students in their communities.
WASB Executive Director Dan Rossmiller praised Sprague’s achievement, stating: “Board members begin their service with a desire to help children in their community reach their potential,” he said. “Margaret has backed up that aspiration with hard work and dedication to learn how to be the best school board member she can be. Level 5 recipients truly represent the highest standard of school board service in Wisconsin.”
“On behalf of the Fennimore Community School District, I want to congratulate Margaret on this well-deserved recognition,” said District Administrator Jane Wonderling. “Her dedication, leadership, and continual pursuit of growth reflect the very best of what it means to serve on a school board. We are grateful for Margaret’s service to our schools and community.”

Our 5th graders recently dove into a hands-on science lesson—dissecting owl pellets! While some started out a little unsure, curiosity quickly took over, and many were disappointed when it was time to put the tools away. Science is all about discovery! #fes #EaglesSoar

This week's Class of the Week is Mrs. Bunn's 5th grade class. They have been busy! In reading, they are learning about the Maya, Aztec, and Inca civilizations—and especially love trying out the role of swift-footed messengers. In science, they are exploring owl pellets to discover what owls eat. In math, they are practicing adding and subtracting decimals, and in social studies, they are learning about the 13 Colonies of America. Their recent field trip to Bethel Horizons added to the excitement, giving students a chance to enjoy nature while building personal, team, and leadership skills. Keep up the great work 5th Graders!

Picture Retake Day at the elementary school will be on Tuesday, October 21st. ! If your child missed picture day or they need to retake their photo, be sure to request a retake online, tell your teacher, or let the office know. Thanks! #FES #EaglesSoar
