Students are using newspaper ads to practice real-life math. Each day, they cut out sale items, find the discounted price, and add sales tax. Their goal is to choose items that add up to an exact dollar amount. The total changes each day, giving students four days to practice math and problem-solving skills.
Our FES Student Council food drive results are in, and Fennimore Elementary School collected an amazing 715 food items for our local food pantry! A big congratulations to Mrs. Streeter’s 1st grade class, who brought in 81 items to become our winning class! They celebrated their hard work with a fun Pajama Day earlier this week. 💛Thank you to Mrs. Ambort and the FES Student Council for organizing this great event Thank you also to all of our students, families, and staff who donated and helped make a difference in our community. It was a Great Gatsby themed party to get English 11 students ready to read the novel. They completed stations to learn all about the 1920s and the novel’s background, such as the American Dream, the prohibition, the author F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Roaring 20s fashion. They enjoyed treats, party hats, pictures, and lots of learning!
