What a wonderful day celebrating our Girls on the Run team at the 5K last Saturday! Over the past several weeks, these amazing 3rd–5th grade girls have worked hard, supported one another, built confidence, and learned valuable lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and believing in themselves. The 5K was a perfect opportunity to showcase all of their effort and determination. Each participant crossed the finish line with smiles, excitement, and a true sense of accomplishment. Whether they ran, jogged, skipped, or walked, every girl showed that she is stronger than she thinks and capable of achieving great things!

A huge thank you to the coaches, families, and supporters who helped make this season so special. Most importantly, congratulations to our Girls on the Run participants—so proud of each and every one of you!

The 5th grade science classes have been reading The Amazing Generation by Jonathan Haidt and Catherine Price. As part of the book, students have been learning about the secrets of the “Tech Wizards” and discovering how “free” apps can sometimes come with hidden costs — including the cost of our sleep.

Thanks to generous donations from the Screen-Free Sleep Team and an anonymous donor, every student received an iSleep Pro KitThe students were excited to check them out and are looking forward to putting their new sleep tools to good use! #fes #EaglesSoar

Last week, our fifth grade students enjoyed an exciting field trip to the The Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums in Platteville. Students explored fascinating artifacts collected by Rollo Jamison and discovered how tools from the past were used for many of the same everyday tasks we do today. They also learned about the area’s rich mining history, including how miners once worked underground to dig for lead and zinc. After lunch at the park, the adventure continued with a climb to the top of the giant “M”! It was a day full of learning, history, fresh air, and fun exploration! #fes #EaglesSoar

Recently in math class, 5th grade students put their perseverance and problem-solving skills to the test with the “Impossible” Domino Challenge! While the activity came with plenty of frustrations and failed attempts, students showed determination and kept working, learning, and trying again. Many were able to successfully complete the challenge and even pushed themselves to make more creations. #fes #EaglesSoar

Last week, the 4th graders wrapped up their CKLA Reading unit on the American Revolution and the story of how America became a country! Throughout the unit, students learned about the important battles of the Revolutionary War and the key figures who helped shape our nation’s history. To celebrate all they learned, they ended the unit with a birthday party for our country—celebrating America turning 250 years old this year! What a fun way to honor the birth of our nation while reflecting on the journey to independence! #fes #EaglesSoar
