Fourth and fifth graders learned how to make bookmarks in Canva during their library classes. Students and staff voted for their favorites and Mrs. Ahnen had the winning bookmarks professionally printed for all students to take during library checkouts. FES students had a fantastic time celebrating Read Across America Week with some of our favorite Dr. Seuss classics! Our 4K students were all smiles as Cat in the Hat made a special visit to share a story. Meanwhile, some first graders dove into the playful world of One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish—and even enjoyed a fun, fish-themed snack! #DrSeuss #FES #EaglesSoar

Our second-grade students worked hard at home to design detailed landscapes showcasing various landforms. Leading up to the project, they took part in hands-on crafts and experiments at school, deepening their understanding and knowledge of different landforms. Their creativity and hard work were evident in the final projects, highlighting all they learned throughout the unit. #fes #EaglesSoar

For 40 years, March has been designated by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) as Music In Our Schools Month® (MIOSM®). The positive impact of music education in the lives of students lasts a lifetime. Therefore, ensuring equitable access to music education for the youngest members of our society—students—is paramount. Every day, in classrooms and rehearsal rooms across our school district, music educators dedicate themselves to reaching all students with life-changing musical experiences. Parents, administrators, and the wider community often only see the wonderful results of music performances; however, we miss the months of practice and rehearsals and more importantly the learning process that takes place to make it all happen. I encourage members in our community to acknowledge and celebrate music education as an essential part of every student’s educational journey.
