Math 6 and 7 students are feeling the holiday magic!
Students are using newspaper ads to practice real-life math. Each day, they cut out sale items, find the discounted price, and add sales tax. Their goal is to choose items that add up to an exact dollar amount. The total changes each day, giving students four days to practice math and problem-solving skills.

Our FES Student Council food drive results are in, and Fennimore Elementary School collected an amazing 715 food items for our local food pantry! A big congratulations to Mrs. Streeter’s 1st grade class, who brought in 81 items to become our winning class! They celebrated their hard work with a fun Pajama Day earlier this week. 💛Thank you to Mrs. Ambort and the FES Student Council for organizing this great event Thank you also to all of our students, families, and staff who donated and helped make a difference in our community. This week's Class of the Week is Mrs. Timmerman's Kindergarten Class. They have had such an exciting week in kindergarten! In math, they have been working hard to learn their numbers up to 20 and have been rocking it! In both reading and writing, they’ve been working on CVC words, practicing stretching out sounds to read, spell, and write. Their confidence continues to grow each day. They also explored the five senses. To wrap up their unit, they created their very own Mr. Potato Head craft, adding eyes, ears, a nose, a mouth, and hands to show all the ways they use their senses. The kids had a blast! Mrs. Timmerman is so proud of all their hard work and creativity! #fes #EaglesSoar

Mr. Carl's Physics students put thermal energy to the test by designing creative ways to keep 10 ice cubes cold for as long as possible. Innovation, problem-solving, and a little friendly competition filled the room. Can you spot a winner?!?!

News From The Classroom: English
It was a Great Gatsby themed party to get English 11 students ready to read the novel. They completed stations to learn all about the 1920s and the novel’s background, such as the American Dream, the prohibition, the author F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Roaring 20s fashion. They enjoyed treats, party hats, pictures, and lots of learning!

Last Thursday, a few fifth grade students had the opportunity to compete against more than 15 area schools in the Math 24 Challenge hosted by CESA 3. The event provided a great opportunity to sharpen math skills while connecting with students from other schools. Fennimore earned a second-place finish as a team, and Aubrey Reuter took first place individually out of more than 50 students.
